Increasing PHP time limit

Sometimes it can take a long time before the import of products is finished, while the 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT' is sufficient. The cause can lie in the PHP time limit. If this is too high - or too many seconds - an import can take too long where the PHP gives a timeout.

You can adjust the PHP time limit in WordPress without having to contact your hosting provider.

wp-config.php

To do this you need to add the code below to the wp-config.php. You will find this file in the root directory of your WordPress website.

max_execution_time = 600;

.htaccess

To do this you need to add the code below to the .htaccess. You will find this file in the root directory of your WordPress website.

max_execution 600

PHP.ini

If you have access to your PHP.ini file, you can add the code below.

set_time_limit(3000);
